INSTRUCTOR: Molly McCowan
March 2, 2019 ~ 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Location: The Purple Cup Cafe
You know the difference between they're, there, and their, but what about between allude, elude, and ilude? When should you use single quotation marks? Is it a "much needed" or a "much-needed" addition? Taught by a professional editor, this class will take you through the most common grammar, punctuation, and spelling mistakes writers make. You'll also learn the five grammar "rules" you can ignore, why it's important to follow one style guide and dictionary, and why spell checkers—and even worse, grammar checkers—are not your friends.
Molly McCowan – Lead Word Nerd, Inkbot Editing
Professional developmental editor, copyeditor, and literary coach Molly McCowan helps writers get from rough draft to published book. She has copyedited for publishers like Oxford University Press, Routledge, and Taylor & Francis, and has served as editor in chief for two Northern Colorado publications (not all at the same time, thankfully). Now she uses her editorial expertise to help new and experienced authors alike realize their dream of seeing their book in print.
PLEASE NOTE: A minimum of 15 class participants is required, otherwise, the class will be canceled and refunds will be issued.
