Both the New York Times and The Economist have described James McGrath Morris’s nonfiction books as being as readable as a novel. In this workshop, Morris will share tips about conducting research that can help animate one’s narrative, provide verisimilitude, and make for a more compelling read. The session is suitable for both novelists and non-fiction writers.

James McGrath Morris is a biographer and writer of narrative non-fiction. Morris has written extensively for newspapers and magazines, as well as some academic journals. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, he spent a decade as a journalist, a decade working in the book and magazine business, and a decade as a high school teacher.

His newest book Tony Hillerman: A Life will be published in October.
