Creative Writing Reading Series: The Writers Harvest
CSU’s creative writing program welcomes two esteemed writers to read their work and answer questions as part of a nationwide series of events to fight hunger.

Across the country, writers and readers unite to support food banks, soup kitchens, and local nutrition programs. At this Nov. 7 event, we ask attendees to bring nonperishable food items, which will be given to the Larimer County Food Bank. In exchange for each item, guests will get a chance to win prizes offered by the Fort Collins community.

This Year’s Writers

Ramona Ausubel is the author of two collections of short stories, Awayland and A Guide to Being Born; as well as two novels, Sons and Daughters of Ease and Plenty and No One is Here Except All of Us.

A winner of the PEN Center USA Literary Award for Fiction and the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award, she has also been a finalist for the New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award. She has been long-listed for the Story Prize, Frank O’Connor International Story Award, and the International Impac Dublin Literary Award.

Ausubel is the newest member of the CSU Creative Writing faculty.

Darcie Dennigan has published three books of poetry – Corinna a-Maying the Apocalypse, Madame X, and Palace of Subatomic Bliss – and one book of performance texts, The Parking Lot and other Feral Scenarios.

She is a recipient of the Discovery/The Nation Prize, as well as awards from the Poetry Society of America, Rhode Island State Council of the Arts, and the Bread Loaf Writers Conference. Her first novel, Slater Orchard, was published in September 2019, by FC2.

Dennigan is the 2019-20 resident playwright at the Wilbury Theatre Group in Providence, Writer in Residence at the University of Connecticut, and co-founder of Frequency Writers.
