PRESENTER: Cynthia Swanson
Friday, May 3 ~ 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Book clubs are more popular than ever. According to a BookBrowse survey,* book club membership rose from 33% of respondents in 2004 to 57% in 2015. Most authors love to see their books chosen by book clubs. But what does it take to write a book that clubs will love? And once you’ve written and published it, how do you reach out to those clubs? In this hands-on, comprehensive workshop, Cynthia Swanson, author of book club favorites The Bookseller and The Glass Forest, will discuss what makes a novel or memoir "book club ready.” We’ll also talk about the ins and outs of book club marketing and publicity: how to get the word out to clubs, what to expect when meeting with clubs (in person or via video chat), and how to keep the book club energy going long after your book’s release.

Cynthia is delivering the opening keynote during the Banquet Dinner on Friday, May 3, and also presenting:
