Northern Colorado Writers Conference
2020 Northern Colorado Writers Conference, April 30-May 2, 2020
The 15th Annual Northern Colorado Writers Conference is on the books for April 30-May 2, 2020. We're thrilled to announce that Sophie Hannah and Teresa Funke will be joining us as this year's keynote speakers. As always, we're bringing you a stellar faculty with expertise in craft, process, business, marketing and more. We're also expanding our schedule by half a day to bring you 4-hour master classes in addition to two full days of sessions and workshops that will get your creative juices flowing.
What it's all about!
With the help of best-selling children's author Debbie Dadey, NCW founder Kerrie Flanagan hosted the first Northern Colorado Writers Conference (NCWC) held in March 2006 at the Armstrong Hotel in downtown Fort Collins with LeAnne Thieman as the keynote speaker.
The conference filled up with 45 attendees and was a huge success. It was clear the conference filled a void in the community. Kerrie knew it would keep growing, so a bigger location had to be found. The Fort Collins Hilton became the home of the 2007 NCWC. Over 100 writers attended and enjoyed hearing author Sandra Dallas and motivational speaker Jim Davidson. Guests also enjoyed an editors panel, networking, trade show, great food, cocktails, and 18 workshop sessions.
In 2020, now under the direction of Amy Rivers, the conference is celebrating 15 great years. The NCWC is one few writers' conferences that caters to a variety of genres including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and screenwriting. Because our conference tends to be smaller than most (around 200 participants), we are able to provide a more personal and intimate experience that many larger conferences lack. Our two-day event offers 30+ sessions, opportunities to get your work in front of literary agents and editors, and a 90+-page program featuring session handouts. A banquet dinner and afternoon lunch are also included. Our passion and attention to detail separates the NCWC from many other conferences, and brings back attendees year after year. We strive to offer a fun, high-quality experience for attendees and presenters because we know your time and budget is important (plus, we love a good time)!
Over the past 14 years, the conference has brought in a variety of industry professionals including...
