Loners & Herds—Exploring the Miniature Dioramas of Hanna Doreen Brown
Have you ever been so drawn to a work of art that you just couldn’t look away or stop thinking about it? Ekphrastic poems focus on works of art—usually paintings, photographs, statues (though this list can also include music and movies and other mediums of art)—and try to interpret, inhabit, confront, and speak to their subjects.
We are excited to offer the first in a series of writing workshops on ekphrastic poetry with our 2018 Poet Laureate (and NCW member) Natalie Giarratano. You’ll have the opportunity to explore this facet of poetry and generate new work in response to the miniature dioramas of artist Hanna Doreen Brown, which are on display for the month of June at Wolverine Farm Letterpress & Publick House. Free to attend.
