No doubt, technology has revolutionized the writing world, providing us with an abundance of tools, ideas, and avenues in which to create. It also allows us to share our work with readers across the globe, but like most things, technology isn't perfect, and can frustrate and infuriate writers by failing to protect, or even save their work. However, in an age where a pen and paper or a typewriter won't cut it, it's imperative writers learn to embrace technology and practical (and easy) ways to manage it so they never have to worry about lost files or a deleted manuscript.
Learn the best way to store, backup and secure your files so you can focus on what you do best, writing. Tom Flanagan will teach you how to implement the latest and greatest security practices, how to select the right cloud storage, and demo some of the coolest Mac and PC apps.
1: Intro: The importance of computer backup and security
2: Cloud and Local backup
3: Cloud Storage: Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud and OneDrive
4: Security: Best practices for Mac and PC users
5: Helpful applications for writers: MS, Evernote, Ulysses, Google Docs, etc.
6: Q and A
