I have enjoyed writing memoir and poetry, especially, for over twenty years, but just recently began to take seriously the art of crafting poetry. I'm here to learn! I moved back to Colorado a few days ago after spending nearly two years in Lincoln, Nebraska. Not long ago in Lincoln, I began to attend poetry open mics, slams, and workshops in Lincoln, Omaha, and Wayne, NE (up by Norfolk). Through a recent Meetup connection, I submitted a few poems to a new local magazine in Lincoln, called Contrast, started by a group of students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Two of my poems, "Your Apartment" and "Hair of the Dog Star" will be published in their inaugural December issue. It's a small victory, but I'm very excited to see my words in print! I graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1999 with a B.A. in Religious Studies, and also hold a J.D. in Law from the same alma mater (2008). I enjoy crochet, music in all its incarnations (live, composing and recording, listening), and being a Facebook zombie. Poetry is my primary passion, though! Looking forward to getting to know many of you in this community.
